Designed for: MEMBERS experiencing a new diagnosis or mild cognitive disability
Open to: MEMBERS who want to maintain brain health through mindful practices

Program Description: 
Ever wondered if mindfulness practice could make a difference for managing stress? Focusing more on what’s going right versus what’s going wrong?  This class is focused on coming together in community to explore how different meditation practices can effect our ability to be the best version of ourselves. This class is open to individuals experiencing mild cognitive change and those concerned about brain health.

Whether you have established mindfulness meditation practice or this is your first time, we welcome you! Join us 15 minutes before each each class for an introduction to mindfulness and explanation of the class. 



This course uses sitting and moving practices adapted for every body to: 
- Practice sitting and moving meditation in an open and supportive environment
Boost your emotional resilience  
Participate as a couple to experience being together in new and different ways  











Facilitator Biography

Jenna Weiss R-DMT, LNHA| Wellbeing Director of Learning and Creative Arts
Jenna is inspired by embodied movement practices, creative arts and mindfulness in addition to a great deal of curiosity about the capacity of the human spirit for resilience and recovery. As a master’s level Dance/Movement Therapist with over 25 years of practicing body-centered learning with older adults, she is most interested in learning from individuals with a lived experience of dementia the unique gifts and perspectives involved in navigating life with cognitive change. As a pioneer leader in the LiveWell Institute and the Director of Learning and Creative Arts, she is passionate about dialogue and the process of collaborative design through the perspective of ‘Nothing about US Without Us’, partnering with individuals living with cognitive change to make systemic change. She holds a license as a nursing home administrator and brings collaboration as a consultant into residential communities for older adults.  She is a self- taught painter, fiber artist and paddle-boarder with two teens at home, James and Cam and two cats, Lulu and Trixie.

Jenn Terray MSN/RN| Wellbeing Director of Integrative Health Coaching
Jenn has been partnering with people living with dementia and those who love them for the past 30-years. As a registered nurse, she has cultivated a high level of awareness and rich body of resources to support people both clinically and in their overall wellbeing from early on in their diagnosis through to end of life. She is a qualified teacher of MBSR- Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction and uses these practices in her everyday living. “Every day is an opportunity to learn something from people living with dementia, and those directly supporting them. By practicing being aware of what is happening in the present moment, those opportunities are more abundant.” Jenn is a pioneer member of The LiveWell Institute and The Wellbeing Director of Integrative Healthy Coaching taking an active role in co-designing programs for post -diagnostic living that highlight developing habits to support well-being. Jenn is the proud mother of two adult son’s and enjoys running, yoga, hiking and exploring nature with her husband, Mike and dog, Blitz.
