Patty Richard | Community Engagement Partner
Patty loves both professional and personal opportunities to learn and grow every day!  She brings her dynamic people skills into each situation, focused on deep listening understanding. As a pioneer member of the LiveWell Faculty, she has directed her skillset to a deeper understanding Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (CST), co-facilitating with a variety of partners and contributing ideas to the continued refinement of this strength-based best practice intervention.  She feels this program brings together some of the essential components of her own life; fitness, social interaction and interesting and diverse thought and conversation. She has witnessed relationships grow, bonds form, and enthusiasm from each of the participants who repeat the program over and over.  Patty’s enthusiasm for connecting with people impacted by dementia was inspired by her own experience as a care partner. Patty also administratively supports The LiveWell Institute and the launch of The Empowering Partnerships Network. She loves to work out regularly, travel with her husband and watch after her growing grandchildren.

Barbara O'Brien | LiveWell Resident
Barbara is an established poet and author and has published a book on poetry called The Didactic Rose. Barbara’s career as a registered nurse spanned over 40 years and she was a supervisor in a nursing home.  She is blessed with 3 grown children and 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.   Barbara is a resident of River View, and she is looking forward to co-facilitating the poetry class and meeting others interested in exploring the power of words.
